  21. I have been using Kermit on an old IBM PC I had in my closet for a dumb
  22. terminal for Linux.  Everything works great, except for some esthetics.
  23. 1.    Instead of a blank, black screen, I get underscores across each row.
  24. It's very annoying and makes some work difficult.
  25. 2.    Their is a status line at the bottom of the screen which decreases my
  26. screen size by one line and makes Emacs tutorial, among other things,
  27. fail.

  29. How do I rid myself of these two thorns?  Aside from these, Kermit is great and
  30. I would like to commend the authors.  Thankyou.
